Relatix wants to support you throughout life. This page explains how participation works and what happens with your information.
Why does Relatix exist?
Relatix was created because a lot of recent progress means that many people with different cognitive profiles will have vastly more opportunities to understand themselves, and improve their wellbeing. Currently many struggle to find the right support at the right time, including getting diagnosed, but also with everyday life. Relatix exists to connect people like you with the very latest advances in understanding of cognitive differences.
What happens if I join Relatix?
Joining Relatix does not commit you to anything. You can:
- Explore resources – free for life
- Answer questionnaires and do tests of your cognitive function
- Learn more about how your brain works
- Receive opportunities matched to your interests and ambitions
You decide what to engage with and what to ignore.
Do I have to share my real identity?
No. You can explore Relatix using a nickname or partial identity. Many people prefer to do this while they are deciding what feels useful or relevant for them. If an opportunity later requires full identity (for example a study or service), that decision is always yours, and details like your name or address might be collected from you – but never by Relatix, always by our partners. So we will never know your name, and address, only your login details.
What information does Relatix use?
Relatix mainly works with:
- Your interests and ambitions
- Your experiences
- Your questionnaire responses and test results
- Your general location (for example county or region)
This helps us to match your relevant resources and opportunities. Some of these might be free, and self-administered, some might be paid-for services or products, or a research study.
Does Relatix sell my personal data?
Relatix does not sell your identity. Relatix is paid to connect organisations with people who may benefit from relevant support, services, or research opportunities.
For example:
- Someone with ADHD might be invited to usability testing for a focus tool
- Someone with bipolar experience might hear about coaching support or a clinical study.
- A supporter might receive guidance opportunities designed for families
You always decide whether to take part in a specific opportunity. Saying no does not affect your access to Relatix – we are with you for life, or as long as you want us to. We will never pass on the data you’ve given us to any organisation we match you with, without your expressed permission, and when we do we’ll explain exactly which data we share, how, and why that is relevant for you.
Relatix may aggregate and analyse data we collect from all participants to create insights; for example which cognitive profiles a certain biomedical device works best with. Such insights will be used to guide you and others toward the opportunities which are most effective for you. We aim for maximum transparency and helpfulness, and if we are in doubt we inform and ask, so you know every step of the way how your data is used.
Why do organisations work with Relatix?
Many services, tools, and studies struggle to reach the people they are designed to support. Relatix helps improve that matching process. Organisations ask us:
“Who might benefit from this?”
Relatix contacts people who have said they are open to hearing about relevant opportunities. Participation is always optional.
Will I receive targeted offers?
Sometimes. Relatix may send invitations or information about opportunities that match your profile or interests. These may include:
Support programmes
Research studies
Tools or services
Events or training
Occasionally commercial offers
We only share opportunities that we believe may be relevant and potentially useful for you. You decide whether to ignore them, explore them, or take part.
Can I stay in Relatix even if I say no to opportunities?
Yes. Most people do. Relatix is designed to be with you for life; a long-term space where support can become more relevant over time, as more and more research discoveries and insights are being made. You can stay on the register and simply receive occasional matched opportunities.
Different people will get different opportunities – based on their cognitive profile and location. We cannot guarantee that you’ll be matched with for example a medical device, therapy or clinical trial. However, we do our very best to find the opportunities which exist, and we do so continuously, so you’ll always get the most up-to-date information. The more information, and the more accurate information you share with us, the better we will be at matching you with opportunities.
Is Relatix a medical service?
No. Relatix does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Relatix helps people:
Understand themselves and others better
Find relevant support
Connect with opportunities to improve health, wellness and quality of life
Contribute lived experience insight
If professional care is needed, we encourage people to seek appropriate clinical support.
Who comes first — participants or partners?
Participants come first. We want to give you access to relevant opportunities for you, to support your ambitions. We want to be relatix for life. We only shares opportunities that are expected to be reasonable, relevant, and potentially beneficial. We can and will say no to commercial partnerships which we don’t have a reasonable chance of being beneficial for you.
How does Relatix protect privacy?
Relatix minimises collecting personal data wherever possible. We:
Allow participation using aliases
Avoid unnecessary tracking
Do not sell identity information
Only contact you about opportunities you asked to hear about
When we collect data which might be identifiable, such as voice, genetics, video, we aim to process it as much as possible, so that we store the de-identified and processed data layer, not the raw data.
You can request deletion of your data at any time.
This means that even if the worst of the worst happened and we got hacked, and all data we’ve collected leaked, nobody would be able to identify you. We do this by very careful data collection principles, and data storage architecture, which unlinks even different pieces of the information you’ve given us, so that nobody but us will even see your full profile.
What happens to information I share over time?
Information you choose to share helps improve how Relatix matches support and opportunities, and your knowledge and insights may help someone who has the same cognitive profile as you do. Some insights may contribute to aggregated statistics that help improve understanding across different cognitive profiles. These summaries do not identify individuals.
Can I leave Relatix later?
Yes. You can request removal from the register at any time. Leaving does not affect anything you previously declined or accepted.
